The United States Cochrane Center (USCC) supports the work of the international Cochrane Collaboration, which seeks to help determine which health care practices are effective by creating systematic reviews of the available evidence. Cochrane reviews synthesize many studies in a transparent and high-quality way. The world of health care involves a great number of studies of varying quality; Cochrane reviews make it possible for decision-makers (including grantmakers, governments and doctors) and patients to determine which big-picture conclusions the evidence supports.
