KIPP is a network of charter schools across the U.S. that focuses on improving outcomes for educationally underserved youth. KIPP Houston operates 21 of these schools, serving 9,000 students.
KIPP’s model includes more time spent in school (including a longer school day, week and year), high academic expectations and a focus on measurable results. KIPP has been evaluated in independent, high-quality studies, and its schools have consistently been shown to improve academic performance.
