To support a study at the University of Guelph on the welfare of different broiler chicken breeds

The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $515,000 to the Global Animal Partnership to support research into broiler chicken welfare at the University of Guelph. Open Philanthropy hopes the study will help to identify which breeds of broiler chicken have the best welfare outcomes.

This grant is a renewal of Open Philanthropy’s April 2016 recommendation, and falls within its focus area of farm animal welfare.
