Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $900,000 over two years to the CDC Foundation to support research on malaria control. The funding will be used to support work on the cryopreservation of mosquito larvae and embryos, as well as the artificial insemination of female mosquitoes. If successful, this work would make it easier for researchers to maintain different strains of mosquitoes and would advance the state of malaria control research.
This follows Open Philanthropy’s March 2021 support and falls within its work on scientific research, specifically within its interest in advancing human health and wellbeing.
