Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) designs and evaluates programs to benefit the world’s poor. It provides implementation services for studies (such as carrying out surveys) as well as assistance and training for them. It participates in discussions with donors and the public about how to use available research to maximize the effectiveness of aid. IPA also provides funding to expand programs it believes to be well-supported by research.
IPA categorizes its work into seven sectors: agriculture, charitable giving, education, health, microfinance and enterprise, governance and community participation, and water and sanitation.
