The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $1,800,000 to The Justice Collaborative (TJC) via the Tides Foundation for general support. TJC, a research and strategic communications collaborative fighting for a smaller, more humane criminal justice system, is led by Rob Smith and houses the Accountable Justice Project, which Open Philanthropy helped launch with a grant in April 2016.
This grant falls within Open Philanthropy's focus area of criminal justice reform. See Open Philanthropy's overall criminal justice reform strategy for more information on why it supports prosecutorial reform.
