Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of €890,600 (approximately $958,286 at the time of conversion) over two years to Wakker Dier to support farm animal welfare litigation in the Netherlands, based on violations of European Union directives transposed into Dutch law. Our farm animal welfare team believes that successful litigation could encourage large-scale reforms to and enforcement of key European Union farm animal welfare policies.
This follows Open Philanthropy’s April 2021 support and falls within its focus area of farm animal welfare.
