This gift is intended to support research into Alzheimer's and cardiovascular diseases. If infections are found to be a risk factor for cardiovascular or neurodegenerative disease, it would indicate that it might be worthwhile to initiate the development of vaccines for implicated viruses. This falls within Good Ventures' interest in supporting Alzheimer's research.
